A Leadership Project

First Nations Women In Tourism (FNWIT) is an Australian leadership project that empowers First Nations Women in Tourism to be leaders.

We see tourism as a platform for story telling of our rich culture and traditions, for truth telling about our history in a constructive and respectful way, and connecting people to the land.

We provide First Nations women with personal coaching and training opportunities, for upskilling and professional development to become leaders in the tourism industry.

We support community development through fostering relationships between trade ready First Nations women and non-indigenous tourism businesses, providing a safe and inclusive working environment that is both mutually beneficial and sustainable.

We encourage and inspire our women to continue to nurture culture for the next generations of Indigenous people for the safekeeping of knowledge.
