About Us

First Nations Women In Tourism Australia (FNWITA) is a leadership project that inspires, supports and empowers First Nations Women in Tourism.

We see tourism as a platform for story telling of our rich culture and traditions, for truth telling about our history in a constructive and respectful way, and connecting people to the land.

Through our not-for-profit organisation,
we support community development by encouraging and inspiring our women to continue to nurture culture for the next generations of Indigenous people.

We provide First Nations women with the skills and tools to enter the tourism industry, building capabilities and empowering our women to become leaders.

We pave the way for trade ready First Nations women and non-indigenous tourism businesses to connect, providing a safe and inclusive working environment that is both mutually beneficial and sustainable, increasing employment opportunities and developing communities.
